Horticulture (Certificate IV And Diploma)

The level IV program is specifically designed to train persons to the level of horticultural supervisor. This person is likely to have responsibility for a number of workers and horticultural activities.

The worker will normally be engaged in a workplace in which they:

  • Demonstrate understanding of a broad knowledge base incorporating some theoretical concepts
  • Apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems
  • Identify and apply skill and knowledge areas to a wide variety of contexts, in some cases in depth
  • Identify, analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources
  • Take responsibility for their own outputs in relation to specified quality standards
  • Take limited responsibility for the quantity and quality of the output of others

    The program is broad based and opens entry into a range of industry sectors including wholesale and retail nurseries, landscape, parks and gardens and revegetation work, and horticultural maintenance businesses.

Students with any Certificate III in Horticulture can apply for this course. The students who study for this course can also do part-time job in the same field and have a great chance of getting work placement.
